What you'll learn:
Guided by experienced raku firing teachers, Rhianna and Kerrie, you will learn to glaze your ceramic pieces (all glazes are supplied), which will then be rapidly fired in an hour to approx. 1000 degrees. They are then removed from the kiln, glowing hot and placed into newspaper filled bins to create a reduction atmosphere promoting stunning colours, crackle and metallic lustre effects. You will learn to work as a big team to help fire everyone's work as there are a number of firings on the day. So much joy is had seeing everyone's works emerge out of the bins as the fiery reduction atmosphere makes each ceramic pot or sculpture wonderfully unique.
This exciting and fun experience will see you taking home your completed works on the day.
What you'll take home:
New raku fired ceramics, made by you!
Instant gratification and understanding of a new ceramic firing technique
